What the comparison shows
On protein: Formula 1 at 18–19g per serving is competitive with most dedicated meal replacement shakes and significantly ahead of Slim-Fast. Huel Black provides more protein but at a higher calorie count. It is better suited as a meal than a calorie-controlled replacement.
On calories: Formula 1 at 215–227 calories (with semi-skimmed milk) is well-positioned for weight loss. Huel Black at ~400 calories is more appropriate for people maintaining weight or with high energy needs.
On cost: At £1.26 per serving at member prices, Formula 1 is competitive with or cheaper than most alternatives. The key is buying at member prices without a joining fee, which is what we offer on every order.
On flavour range: Formula 1 has 8+ flavours including a dairy-free Free From option. This is comparable to most competitors and better than Slim-Fast.
The honest verdict
Herbalife Formula 1 is a well-rounded meal replacement shake that performs competitively on protein, calories, and cost. It is not the highest-protein option (Huel Black beats it on that metric) and not the cheapest per serving in every comparison, but it is nutritionally complete, widely available, and backed by a large body of user experience.
