Lifestyle, not diet

We believe lasting change comes from how you live, not from a diet.

Diets have a start date and an end date. A lifestyle is simply the way you live, one ordinary day after another.

Here are the ideas we come back to again and again.

Small daily habits beat quick fixes

Quick fixes ask a lot of you for a short time, then stop. Small habits ask a little every day, and they keep going.

Pick one thing you can do today without much effort. Once it feels normal, add the next one.

Consistency matters more than perfection

Nobody gets every day right, and you do not need to. What counts is what you do most of the time.

A good week with one wobble is still a good week. Aim for steady, not flawless.

Sleep is part of the plan

When we sleep badly, everything feels harder the next day. Food choices slip and motivation drops.

Try going to bed at a similar time each night. Put your phone down a little earlier, and keep the bedroom cool and dark.

Keep water close by

It is easy to forget to drink during a busy day. Keep a bottle on your desk, in the car or in your bag.

Seeing it is often the reminder you need. A glass with each meal is a simple place to start.

Move a little more, in ways you enjoy

Moving more does not have to mean a gym. A walk at lunchtime, taking the stairs or dancing in the kitchen all count.

Choose something you like, because you will keep doing it. Short bursts across the day soon add up.

Plan your meals ahead

Most food decisions happen when we are tired and hungry. A little planning takes the pressure off those moments.

Spend ten minutes at the weekend thinking about the week’s meals. Write a shopping list, then shop from it.

Enjoy your food

Food is one of life’s pleasures, and it should stay that way. Sit down to eat when you can, and take your time.

Notice the taste and how full you feel. Meals you enjoy are meals you will keep coming back to.

Start again after a bad day

Everyone has days that do not go to plan. One meal or one day does not undo the good things you have done.

There is no need to wait for Monday. Make your next choice a good one, and carry on.

We are here when you want a hand

Change feels easier with someone in your corner. If you would like to talk things through, we are happy to listen.
