How to Make a Herbalife Loaded Tea at Home, Measured Properly

Club drinks are made by eye. At home you can follow the label instead, which matters because the caffeine adds up quickly.

Quick answer: how do you make one?

Half a teaspoon of Instant Herbal Beverage in 200 to 240ml of water, one LiftOff tablet dissolved in 250ml, and 15ml of Herbal Aloe Concentrate in 120ml of water. Combined over ice that is 162.5 mg of caffeine and about £3.93 a glass.

The measures, straight off the labels

Product Label dose Caffeine Cost per serving
Instant Herbal Beverage Original 51g Half a teaspoon, 1.7 g, in 200 to 240ml water 87.5 mg £0.67
Lift Off® Effervescent Energy Drink Lemon-lime 10 tablets per box One tablet dissolved in 250ml water 75 mg £2.20
Aloe Concentrate Aloe Mango 473ml 15ml, three capfuls, in 120ml water None £1.10

Those are the doses the manufacturer states, not a scoop by eye. Using them means you know exactly what is in the glass.

Making it, step by step

Dissolve the LiftOff tablet in 250ml of cold water first and let the fizz settle. Adding it last makes the glass foam over.

Stir half a teaspoon of the tea powder into a little hot water until it dissolves, then top up with cold. Cold water alone leaves lumps.

Add 15ml of aloe concentrate and pour the lot over ice. Total volume lands near 600ml, which is why it is served in a tall cup.

What one glass costs and contains

Measure Per glass
Caffeine 162.5 mg
Calories from the three products about 18 kcal
Cost to make £3.93

Roughly £3.93 a glass is the honest figure, using the stated servings per pack. Adding juice or syrup pushes both cost and calories up.

The caffeine limit, which is the real risk

One glass carries 162.5 mg of caffeine by the label figures. Two glasses would be 325 mg before any coffee or cola.

The NHS advises no more than 200 mg of caffeine a day in pregnancy. One glass is already close to that limit on its own.

The LiftOff label states one serving per day, and says it is not recommended for children, for pregnant or nursing women, or for anyone sensitive to caffeine.

It also says not to use it with alcohol. That is on the pack, and it is the line most often ignored in club style recipes.

Key points

  • Use the label doses rather than a scoop by eye, so you know the caffeine total.
  • Dissolve LiftOff first, then the tea in a little hot water, then the aloe.
  • One glass is 162.5 mg of caffeine and about £3.93 to make.
  • The NHS advises a 200 mg daily caffeine limit in pregnancy.
  • LiftOff states one serving a day and is not recommended with alcohol.
