High-Protein Herbalife Recipe: The Cookie Crunch Shake Bowl
A shake bowl is a thicker version of a Formula 1 shake — made with less liquid so it can be eaten with a spoon and topped with crunchy additions. This Cookie Crunch version uses Vanilla Cream Formula 1 and PDM for a high-protein breakfast that feels more like a treat than a meal replacement.
Quick answer: blend 2 scoops of Formula 1 Vanilla Cream, 1 scoop of PDM, and 150–180ml semi-skimmed milk until thick. Pour into a bowl and top with a crumbled Protein Bar and a few frozen berries. Approximately 35g protein, ready in under 5 minutes. New to Formula 1? See the flavour comparison guide to choose your base.

The Cookie Crunch Shake Bowl
Serves: 1 Prep time: 5 minutes Equipment: blender
Ingredients
- 2 scoops Formula 1 Vanilla Cream
- 1 scoop Protein Drink Mix (PDM)
- 150–180ml semi-skimmed milk (less = thicker bowl)
- 4–5 ice cubes
- 1 Protein Bar (Chocolate Peanut or Vanilla Almond), crumbled
- Small handful frozen berries (optional)
Method
- Add milk, ice, Formula 1 and PDM to a blender.
- Blend for 30–45 seconds until thick and smooth. The mixture should be thick enough to hold a spoon upright — add less milk if needed.
- Pour into a bowl.
- Crumble the Protein Bar over the top for the cookie crunch texture.
- Add frozen berries if using. Eat immediately.
Approximate macros
Figures are approximate based on Formula 1 Vanilla Cream, PDM, semi-skimmed milk and one Protein Bar. Check current product labels for exact nutritional information.
Variations
Chocolate version
Swap Formula 1 Vanilla Cream for Smooth Chocolate and top with a crumbled Chocolate Peanut Protein Bar. Tastes like a chocolate brownie bowl.
Lower calorie version
Use 1 scoop of Formula 1 and no PDM with 100ml milk. Approximately 180–200 calories and 12–15g protein — better as a snack than a full breakfast. Read the PDM vs Formula 1 guide to understand when PDM adds value.
Without a blender
Mix Formula 1 and PDM with 100ml milk in a shaker until very thick, then pour into a bowl. The texture will be less smooth but still works. Add the crumbled bar on top as normal.
Frozen banana version
Add half a frozen banana to the blender for a naturally sweeter, creamier bowl. Adds approximately 50 calories and increases the carbohydrate content. Works particularly well with Vanilla Cream.
Why a shake bowl instead of a shake?
A shake bowl takes slightly longer to eat than a drink, which means you feel fuller for longer. The act of eating with a spoon and chewing the toppings triggers satiety signals that a liquid shake does not. For people who find a standard shake leaves them hungry within an hour, a bowl version is often more satisfying.
The crumbled Protein Bar topping also adds texture and a small amount of additional protein without significantly increasing calories. For a full structured meal plan using Formula 1, see the 7-day Herbalife meal plan.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a blender to make a shake bowl?
A blender gives the best thick, smooth texture. Without one, mix Formula 1 and PDM with a small amount of milk in a shaker until very thick, then pour into a bowl. The texture will be less smooth but still works.
How much protein is in the Cookie Crunch Shake Bowl?
Approximately 35g protein from Formula 1, PDM, milk and the Protein Bar topping. Check current product labels for exact figures as these can vary. See the PDM vs Formula 1 guide if you want to adjust the protein content.
Can I make it without PDM?
Yes. Use 2 scoops of Formula 1 with 150ml milk for approximately 18–20g protein. The bowl will be slightly less thick. Add PDM if you want higher protein content.
Which Protein Bar flavour works best as a topping?
Chocolate Peanut gives a classic cookie crunch flavour. Vanilla Almond works well with the Vanilla Cream base for a lighter, nuttier taste. Both work — use whichever you prefer.
Which Formula 1 flavour works best for a shake bowl?
Vanilla Cream is the most versatile base. Smooth Chocolate works well for a richer bowl. See the full flavour comparison for all options.
